In Psych Out, a deaf girl (Susan Strasberg) comes to California at the height of the "Flower Power" era looking for her brother, who sent her a postcard that said "God is alive and well and living in a sugar cube." Jack Nicholson plays a guy named (appropriately enough) "Stoney."
